Parent Friendly Principles

Relaxed Space

The space is comfy, set up with children in mind, with mats, toys and snacks. Noise is welcome and supported. Everyone is free to be themselves and move around as they need. Arriving ‘late’ or leaving ‘early’ never needs an apology.

Content

No subject is considered too taboo and swearing is allowed, but we will support our audience with content warnings so they can make informed choices for themselves and their children.

Supportive Community

Each event aims to create a mini community by offering opportunities to meet each other whether audience or participant, whether one session or 10. There should always be opportunities to connect to a wider community, to make new friends and to feel valued and seen. All events aim to feel uplifting and offer space for listening, reflection, witnessing, sharing, support and inspiration. As a community, we support each other’s diversity and recognise there are many ways to parent and be creative.

schedule

Each event is designed with its audience in mind. In-person events are usually programmed between 10 am-2 pm on weekdays in term times, to support parents on the school run. Events are up to 2 hours in length, otherwise, the kids can riot! Weekend workshops and events vary based on the time of year. Online evening events aim to be after 8 pm ‘bedtime’.

Parent-Centred

The content of events is adult-centred but children of all ages are welcome to attend. A buggy park and nappy changing space is in the space or set up nearby.
