Parents on the Mic
Courses
Inviting parents to explore their creative voices through performance.
“Finding time to developing interests and skills when in the throws of parenting or grandparenting can be a challenge. Exploring your voice creatively can bring all manner of rewards - renewed connection to your identity, building confidence, being part of a community, not to mention a rush of adrenaline! My Parents on the Mic course are designed with caring responsibilities in mind - they take place within school hours, children of all ages are always welcome with you, and it’s always okay to show up as you are. I believe it is really important to see their parents as following their passions and also being brave. I collaborate with brilliant artists (usually parents themselves) to run courses in poetry, songwriting and standup comedy courses. At the end of each course there is a live show, so there is the option to share new material with an uplifting and supportive audience. All levels of experience are welcome and encouraged.”
