Maternal JournAL exeter

Creative Journaling for all m/others and pregnant people. Each week, through creative workshops, we will explore the history and practice of journaling to promote positive mental health and well-being. Inspired by artists, writers and thinkers, we will explore a range of journaling approaches – from collage, poetry, drawing, mar making, and writing. The course can provide an outlet for some of the feelings and challenges you might experience both physically and emotionally in pregnancy and new parenthood.

No experience is needed. All materials are provided, you will just need to bring a journal or you can buy one at the session.

  • New Programme Coming Soon

An online creative journaling course with Lizzy Humber. This is a time to pause and connect with yourself before the new week begins. Explore creative journalling in a small and supportive group. Each week there will be a creative prompt using a variety of artistic approaches from dream writing, poetry, collage, mark making to comic strips. Together we will explore the history and practice of journaling to promote positive mental health and well-being in m/otherhood.

This course is aimed at pregnant people, m/others and grand m/others, at any stage of your journey. The course can provide an outlet for some of the feelings and challenges you might experience both physically and/or emotionally.

No experience is needed. You will need to bring some simple art materials and a journal. Lizzy will also provide prompts and support via an optional WhatsApp group. This is also a place of community and peer support, where we can hold each other up, laugh, celebrate and reflect together. You are welcome to have your children with you, arrive 'late' or leave early. You are welcome to join from anywhere in the world. If you need to step away from the screen Lizzy will make sure you can still participate when you’re ready to re-join. If you’ve booked to come and you can’t make it, you will still receive a copy of the guide to take part.
