Lilith: The Other Side of the Story
Before Eve, there was Lilith...
An uplifting one-woman storytelling show.
An exploration and celebration of female power through the mythological figure of Lilith. Shocking, seductive and entertaining.
Lilith, the first wife of Adam, was not prepared to lie down and accept what was given to her. Thrown out of Eden, she slithered back in to take her revenge and wake Eve up to what her body could do.
Viewed as a demon, worshipped as a goddess, adored as the Queen of Sheba, Lilith slips out of the Bible, reclaims the narrative and is dancing with us still, forever free.
Katy Cawkwell mixes myth from Arabia, Ethiopia, Mesopotamia and Jewish tradition, with a dash of feminist flavouring and a large dollop of her own wild dreaming.

Babes in Arms Welcome
Daylight Theatre is a relaxed daytime edition of the show, aimed parents being able to attend. This is an adult centred show but babes in arms welcome are very welcome with older children too at your discretion, please see content warning below. You are also welcome without children if evening access is a barrier. If you prefer an evening option, there is an evening performance at Cygnet Theatre on 25 September. Katy is on tour this autumn, so this is an opportunity to preview the show first. Everyone is invited to stay afterwards to share reflections and feedback with Katy.

The Rougemont Room is on the 2nd level of Exeter Library. There is a lift and space to park buggies outside the room. There is limited space in the room, but if you have a sleeping child we will find you a comfy spot with your buggy.

At Exeter Library will have a baby changing area in the space so you don’t need to miss a thing. There is baby changing on the 3rd level and in the children’s library on the ground floor. The room is inclusive for children, there will be mats and toys for children of all ages to get comfy, but please bring snacks and toys for your children as they need them.
